Team Delta Lloyd pops up on whale

The second leg of the Volvo Ocean Race Team for Delta Lloyd is not without problems. The Dutch boat, which currently lies at the eighth position, came in the Southern Ocean in collision with a whale. The speed of thirteen went back to zero knots, but the Delta Lloyd, the rate does continue.

The collision took place during a sail change and the crew did not sit in the cold clothes. "I was on the foredeck and looked the unfortunate animal in the eye," responded Gerd-Jan Poortman "I looked at him and saw that he just pain was terrible." The keel of the Delta Lloyd seems intact and the boat speed now back at full strength.
